Georgia Horsley named official face of UK Lingerie Awards

Horsley attended the UK Lingerie Awards, organised by business magazine Lingerie Insight, last year as a guest with fiancé and McFly singer Danny Jones, who is about to embark on a sell-out tour with McBusted, a supergroup made up of members of bands McFly and Busted.

This year Horsley will return to the awards in an official capacity as an ambassador for the event and says she feels "overwhelmed" by the opportunity to be the face of the UK Lingerie Awards.

Horsley said: "I'm so pleased that I was asked to be the face of the UK Lingerie Awards 2013 in association with Fashion Forms. I'm honoured. Throughout my modelling career I've been to so many swimwear and lingerie shows so it is such a nice thing for me to be able to be a part of after being in the industry for so long.

"Lingerie is a base to everything you wear and no matter what you've got on, when you have a beautiful set of lingerie on underneath your clothes it makes you feel special, even if you don't show it to anyone." 

The biggest names of the British lingerie and swimwear industry will battle it out to be crowned the best in the business at the UK Lingerie Awards 2013, organised by business magazine Lingerie Insight, on December 4 at London's Freemasons' Hall.

Finalists for 18 categories have now been announced with awards up for grabs including Lingerie Brand of the year, Swimwear Brand of the Year and Independent Retailer of the Year.

The winners of those categories have been chosen by an expert panel of lingerie insiders that includes lingerie designer Marios Schwabb, Debenhams head of lingerie buying and design Sharon Webb, Figleaves commercial director Melanie Cottrell, Fenwick lingerie buyer Laura Snelling and Lingerie Insight editor Sarah Blackman.

A further three awards will be handed out on the night that will be voted for by the public: UK's Favourite Lingerie Brand of the Year, UK's Favourite Lingerie Retailer of the Year and UK's Favourite British Designer of the Year. The shortlist will be announced closer to the date of the Awards, once voting closes at uklingerieawards.com, and the winners will be kept secret until the ceremony.

In a new move for the UK Lingerie Awards, members of the general public can now buy tickets to the event. Tickets cost just £75 and include an evening of entertainment, food and drinks, as well as the chance to rub shoulders with some of the brightest stars of the lingerie world.
