Moda Operandi launches trunkshows for Russian designers

The first trunkshows launch with A La Russe and Ruban, continuing with Vilshenko and Alexandr Kondakov, Alexander Terekhov and Esme Vie, and Natasha Zinko, Kalmanovich and Masterpeace.

Moda Operandi General Merchandising Manager & Creative Director of Trunkshows, Indre Rockefeller, who spearheads the sourcing of new talent for the company, attended Moscow Fashion Week in November.  Moda Operandi's innovative platform enables emerging designers to build greater brand awareness and reach new customers from around the world.

"I was so inspired by my trip to Moscow," said Indre Rockefeller.  "What struck me was the appetite for innovation and discovery among fashion designers. At the same time, there is a reverence for the rich cultural history of the country. I think that the fusion of the two is really exciting."

Each designer's collection offers a distinct point of view.  Julia Vilshenko's Russian-infused evening gowns and 60's inspired bell-shape dresses with mesh tulle and velvet silk details are elegant and artfully crafted. 

Alexander Terekhov creates easy to wear, loose-fitting silhouettes and Ruban is characterized by a beautiful color palette, incorporation of layering and sheer panels that are seen in so many Spring/Summer 2014 collections.
