Australia’s hottest up and coming emerging fashion talent, aspiring to grow their businesses, is invited to enter the second annual BT Emerging Fashion Designer Award.

Through this award, BT is proudly investing in Australia’s young and gifted emerging fashion designers. BT is proud to be encouraging emerging designers to reach their full potential by not only investing in, but supporting the growth of Australian designers.

The Award provides the winning emerging Australian fashion designer with a $10,000 cash grant and a year’s financial planning services provided by BT; two return business class flights to New York provided by Virgin Australia to further their fashion ambitions; and two mentoring sessions with two fashion industry icons provided by the Australian Fashion Chamber. Total value of the prize is $40,000.

Christopher Esber was the inaugural winner of the Award in 2013.

“Winning the BT award really helped with my business' growth, and having support with putting strategic plans in place for my business,” Mr Esber said.

Brad Cooper, Chief Executive Officer of BT Financial Group said: “BT is proud to present the 2014 BT Emerging Fashion Designer Award to help one of fashion’s rising stars prepare for their best future in the Australian fashion industry.”

Jane Watts, General Manager Private Wealth of BT Financial Group said: “I am delighted that Private Wealth will be hosting BT Runway for Success again next year. The event promotes our wider community by supporting the Fitted for Work charity, encourages Australia’s emerging designers through the BT Emerging Fashion Designer Award and supports our top designer clients by showcasing their collections.”

For the 2014 Award BT is proud to be working with the Australian Fashion Chamber (AFC). The AFC is a newly established collaboration of industry professionals with the goal of strengthening the influence and success of Australian fashion in the global economy.

Led by Edwina McCann, Editor in Chief of Vogue Australia, the AFC worked with BT to establish judging criteria for the winning designer.

BT has been helping Australians, including Australia’s fashion icons, establish and grow their businesses since 1969. It has supported its fashion clients by helping them become better investors, showing them how to grow and protect their wealth to secure their future.
