Over 55 designers to show at Wellington Fashion Week

More than 55 designers will participate at the upcoming third edition of New Zealand’s premium trade and consumer fashion event Wellington Fashion Week (WFW).

Set to take place from April 9 to 13, 2014, the event aims to serve as a platform for local designers to showcase their talent in front of an international audience.

Expected to attract around 15,000 consumers and prominent industry insiders from around the world, the soiree will feature nearly 20 buyers and trade focused events, including catwalk presentations, an exclusive media seminar and other style and beauty related shows.

While speaking about the event, Cameron Sneddon, one of the WFW organizers, said, “It is becoming more and more difficult for designers in New Zealand to gain international attention and exposure – we’re offering an unprecedented opportunity to showcase New Zealand fashion on the world stage for a fraction of the price”.

Apart from Sneddon, the WFW’s other co-organizers include New Zealand Apparel Magazine and Craig Mills.

The runway shows of the event will be internationally broadcasted by the world-famous live broadcasting fashion television channel FashionTV.

The event’s 2013 version had witnessed an array of Autumn/Winter 2013 ranges from names like Starfish, Philippa and Alice, highnoontea and Deryn Schmidt.
