The just wrapped up 20th edition of Netherlands’ premier style event Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Amsterdam (MBFWA) featured several Autumn/Winter 2014 collections from new and established Dutch designers.

Vincent van Gogh, the post-Impressionist painter of Dutch origin, played as the source of inspiration for designer Mattijs Bergen. Turning the paintings of the artist into rich digital prints, the designer created pieces like open back black dresses, embroidered tops and skirts with bronze zippers and some blue sequined numbers.

Emerging fashion label Maison the Faux drew ideas from a singer’s onstage performance for its latest unisex runway presentation, which included patchwork detailed denims, furry ensembles and beaded jackets.

Designer Aziz Bekkaoui staged his catwalk show with an energy-filled troupe of dancers. Playing with two key elements, black colour and sexy lace, the collection featured bomber jackets, wide skirts, bodysuits and an unusual bridal gown in black.

For the very first time in its history of nearly 10 years, the recently concluded season of MBFWA, erstwhile Amsterdam Fashion Week, was officially sponsored by the internationally renowned car manufacturer Mercedes-Benz.
