Dubai Mall & Vogue Italia to host Vogue Talent initiative

Dubai Mall and Vogue Italia have once again joined hands to host the second edition of Vogue Talent initiative, a fashion design competition that allows young labels to showcase their creativity before a global audience.

A brainchild of the Editor-in-Chief, Vogue Italia, Franca Sozzani, the talent scouting event will be participated by up and coming international brands that have been in the fashion design business for minimum one year or more.

The contest winners will be provided with opportunities to be mentored by global fashion experts and also to present their works at the Vogue Fashion Dubai Experience, a style centric platform that aims to establish Dubai as a global fashion destination.

Additionally, the clothing designs, created by the young participants, will later be curated by Middle East’s famous international luxury fashion online destination BySymphony.

Attended by 400,000 people, the inaugural edition of Vogue Fashion Experience, which took place in October, 2013, featured collections from eight new brands- Wadah Al Hajri (Qatar), Lulwa Al Amin (Bahrain), Saudi Arabia’s Razan Alazzouni and Ashi Studio, Andrea Incontri (Italy), Irish-born Simone Rocha, Nigerian Ituen Basi and Esme Vie (owned by Russian designers Julia Voitenko and Daria Golevko).

Other than the catwalk showcases, the soiree also hosted two exhibitions—one featuring haute couture designs by iconic couturiers, including Dolce & Gabbana, Versace, Armani, Valentino, Giambattista Valli, Chanel, Dior, Elie Saab, Jean Paul Gaultier and Givenchy, and the other exhibiting the most incredible Vogue Italia covers over the past 25 years.
