A visual delight for the Canadian fans of the award-winning British television series Downton Abbey is well on its way as the famous historic manor Spadina Museum in Toronto is set to host an exhibition highlighting the elaborate costumes from the period drama.

Dubbed as ‘Dressing for Downton: Costumes from Downton Abbey’, the event will display an array of costumes chosen from the first three seasons of the hit show.

Sourced from one of the world’s premiere film, television and theatre costumier Cosprop, the to-be-featured 20-piece clothing collection will include Lady Sybil’s World War I nurse uniform, embroidered and beaded evening dresses, maid’s outfits, Lord Grantham’s linen suit and the head housekeeper Mrs. Hughes’ gown.

Slated to take place from March 11 to April 13, 2014, the display will also feature nine headgears, including Lady Sybil’s scarf, Lady Cora’s wide-brimmed hat and Lady Mary’s cloche.

Additionally, the exhibit visitors will have a chance to step into and experience the world of Spadina Museum which stands as a symbol of 1920’s and 1930’s Toronto.

Before Spadina Museum, Delaware’s Winterthur Museum and Oxfordshire’s West Ox Arts Gallery have hosted similar exhibits on the period costumes of Downton Abbey.
