Valentine’s Day is around the corner and the fashionistas who still not have been able to shop for that perfect outfit for the special day can now take last minute tips from the upcoming Lakmé Fashion Week Summer Resort 2014’s designers.

For the demure divas who don’t intend to dress to kill but still want to keep the sensuality quotient high can choose a simple shirt-dress for the occasion. Like designer Anushka Khanna says, “A slip or shirt dress works great. Both long and knee-length it’s easy, classic and sophisticated. It’s also a great canvas to play with accessories—a pop color shoe or a jeweled clutch”

The bolder glamorous counterparts, who are not afraid to experiment with their looks, can easily slip into a 1990-esque sexy slip dress, made famous by models like Kate moss. “Bare shoulders are always sexy,” says the London College of Fashion grad Anushka while describing the qualities of body-hugging slip dresses.

Fashion label Jade Couture designers, Monica and Karishma, think a woman looks her best in traditional attire, “A classic cocktail sari is always flattering! Opt for stylized drapes and quirky accessories like a brooch to stand out. Pair it with a crop top to emanate a young, chic vibe.”

Designers Aarti Gupta and Anushka Khanna believe that the colour red, with all variations in shades, is going to rule this celebratory day of love. “Though red is a perennial favorite, this Valentine's Day is all about experimentation. Hues of burgundy, coral and wine rule the roost - incredibly stylish and en vogue, the hues spell out casual decadence.”
