FPC to host 6th Fashion Pakistan Week from Feb 19

The Fashion Pakistan Council (FPC) is all set to host the sixth edition of its Fashion Pakistan Week (FPW), scheduled to be held in the city of Karachi from February 19 to 21, 2014.

The sixth edition of the FPW would have 24 mainstream and upcoming fashion designers including retailers showcasing their spring-summer (S/S) 2014 collections, in eight fashion shows over the course of the three-day event.

Several Pakistani designers including Maheen Khan, Shamaeel Ansari, Nomi Ansari, Hassan Sheheryar Yasin, Deepak Perwani, Fahad Hussayn, Faraz Manan, Amna Aqeel, Jafferjees, Gul Ahmad, Adnan Pardesy, Zainab Chottani, Tapu Javeri, Kamiar Rokni, Maheen Hussain, Nida Azwer, Ali Xeeshan and others would be participating in the event and showing their S/S 14 collections.

During the three-day event, FPC members would also be honoring upcoming and seasoned designers through awards such as the Emerging Talent award—to recognize the efforts of upcoming designers, the Diamond Designer award—a lifetime achievement award to a Pakistani designer working in the fashion industry for 18 to 20 years and the Best Collection award—for the best S/S 14 collection presented during the show.

According to FPC chairperson Sanam Chaudhri, the main objective of FPW is to bring together the new designers, retailers and renowned designers from Lahore and Karachi under one platform in order to encourage the new generation of designers to promote the fashion sector of the country.

The FPC is a part of the Council of International Fashion Designers of Pakistan and is the single largest platform aiming to provide the much needed boost to the fashion industry of Pakistan. The FPC council members represent a major segment of the design fraternity working together to encourage, promote and facilitate the development and growth of the fashion industry and make it competitive in international markets.
