Vivienne Westwood designs for 'Muppets Most Wanted'

Vivienne Westwood, the talented English design veteran of international repute, has been roped in to create clothes for one of the central characters in the upcoming American comedy film ‘Muppets Most Wanted’.
According to WWD, the 72-year-old multiple-award winning designer has been assigned with the task of creating outfits for the fashionable female lead Miss Piggy in the musical mystery movie, set to release on March 20, 2014.
The adorable Muppet will be seen in the designer’s couture Long Ivory Court wedding gown, which includes a glittering corset made from recycled plastic bottles and a long sweeping tulle veil, in the film.
Westwood has also designed a Harris Tweed hound’s tooth check coat paired with a matching beret as well as a floor skimming silver hued hand-embroidered floral lace dress for Miss Piggy.
‘Muppets Most Wanted’ is the story of a European jewel-heist caper headed by Miss Piggy’s fiancé Kermit the Frog’s look-alike.
The Derbyshire-born Dame Westwood is being largely credited for bringing modern punk and new wave fashions into the mainstream.
