As Lakmé Fashion Week (LFW), India’s leading fashion trade event enters in its fifteenth year, it’s proud to present yet another exciting Summer/Resort season. LFW announced a robust line-up of 98 participating designers and 13 sponsors who have come together to celebrate the very best of fashion and creative talent.

Over the years, Lakmé Fashion Week has set new trends, promoted young talent and taken the lead on the digital front for the industry to follow. This season too will witness the industry’s most established names come together with young talent to set an unparalleled benchmark of diversity, creativity and energy.

Highlights of Lakmé Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2014:
Grand Finale designer – Rajesh Pratap Singh
Rajesh Pratap Singh’s collection, inspired by Lakmé Absolute Color Illusion, will be a magnificent interplay of light and color through make-up and outfits that represent his signature style of simplistic cuts and minimal but flawless detailing. The rich colors of the entire collection reflect a modern style that will take center-stage at the Lakmé Fashion Week Summer/ Resort 2014 Grand Finale.

Opening show by Manish Malhotra
Bollywood’s fashion has come to enjoy a couture status because of Manish Malhotra’s magic over the past years. He has surpassed his contemporaries and emerged as the industry’s go-to-person for celebrities and fashion icons in India and around the world. His trend-setting creations have always been cherished by the fashion community and are the perfect way to begin another stellar season.

International designer
UK-based accessory designer MAWI returns to her homeland after 12 years of establishing the infamous MAWI brand in London. Born in Manipur, MAWI returns to her Indian roots with a spectacular debut show at LFW sharing the ramp with Indian couturier Gaurav Gupta.

The show presented by DHL is set to be one of the key highlights of the season and will celebrate MAWI’s remarkable debut on the Indian catwalk with Gaurav Gupta’s elegant designs, chronicling a retrospective journey through landmark MAWI pieces.

Jabong Stage
One of the most exciting launches this season will be a new show space inside the Grand Hyatt hotel with an international look and feel that will be called the Jabong Stage in partnership with one of the fastest growing e- retailers in India, Jabong.com. Lakmé Fashion Week has partnered with Jabong.com to give the young and emerging designers an upgraded platform to showcase their fresh and edgy ideas and designs. With Jabong.com on board for four consecutive seasons, this new platform is all set to become the most sought after among the emerging talent.
