Femina announces Style Diva North 2014 winner

Femina, India’s leading women’s magazine, provided a platform for 16 handpicked young fashionistas from North India, to showcase their innate sense of style in Attitude from Amway Femina Style Diva North 2014. The glittering affair was hosted at The Westin, Gurgaon, the hospitality partner for the event.

Ms. Hida Siddiqui was announced as the winner of the coveted title, Kanika Kapur and Meenakshi Chaudhary were the first and second runners-up at the Attitude from Amway Femina Style Diva North presented by Maruti Suzuki Swift Dezire and powered by Hindware Italian Collection.

The qualified panel of jurists included fashion icon and actor Malaika Arora Khan, South-Indian superstar Tamannaah Bhatia, Kermin Bhot Managing Editor Femina, Entrepreneur and Socialite Ramola Bachchan, Delhi-based model the gorgeous Tina Chatwal, and Mr. Sanjay Sharma, Complex General Manager, The Westin Gurgaon at The Westin Sohna Resort and Spa along with famed designers Payal Jain and Anuapama Dayal.

For the first round, the finalists strutted down the ramp in ensembles from their own wardrobes, displaying their individual style quotients. In the second fashion round, the divas sashayed down the ramp in Monte Carlo’s chic spring/summer 2014 collection.

The third round was a proud showcase of Indian aesthetics, where the girls modelled Biba’s latest ethnic collection. The penultimate round saw the fashionistas flaunting gorgeous cocktail gowns from fashion designer Nitya Birla Bajaj’s special collection for the pageant. Out of the 16 contestants walking down the ramp, the top 8 were called on for the final Q&A round, where the panellists asked the girls style and fashion related questions.

The sequences were choreographed by ace choreographer Achla Sachdev, who mentored the girls to exude confidence and charisma on the ramp.Besides these rounds, there were a series of exciting sub-contests organised by Attitude from Amway, Alpha Monte Carlo, Philips Kerashine Range, BIBA, Hindware Italian Collection, and Maruti Suzuki Swift Dezire, Spicejet and Achla bringing out the best in the aspiring style divas.

To keep the audience entertained, the event witnessed foot-tapping performances by rising singing sensations Siddharth Mahadevan and Ankit Tewari, and energetic acts by Delhi-based dance group MJ5, who won India's Dancing Superstar. Thedazzling evening was hosted by popular TV host Archana Vijaya.
