|FAT| Arts & Fashion Week, Toronto’s celebrated multi-arts stage for cutting-edge fashion design & art, returns April 22-26, 2014 for a packed schedule of runway shows, photography exhibits, art installations, theatrical performances and fashion films, all taking place under one roof.

Entering its 9th year, |FAT| continues to be the only festival of its kind in Canada, providing a platform for hundreds of emerging and contemporary designers and artists to present new movements in fashion, art and culture in a stimulating showcase before they hit the mainstream.

“Over the years, |FAT| has given birth to celebrity talent. Our fashion designers have graced the pages of high-profile magazines like British Vogue, ID, Harper’s Bazaar, Glamour & Fashion; they have dressed the likes of Lady Gaga, Katy Perry and Kate Moss and worked with top fashion houses like Alexander McQueen.

“|FAT| participants have gained international acclaim in competitions like Project Runway Canada & UK and Mercedes Benz Start Up. Recently one of our most unconventional and extraordinary models has been selected for Americas Next Top Model Cycle 21, “ says Vanja Vasic, |FAT| executive director.

Past |FAT| designers include Matière Noire, Pedram Karimi, Martin Lim, Evan Biddell, Rachel Sin, Emily Woudenberg, Esther Perbandt, Jasper Garvida and Pat McDonagh. During the 5-day event, |FAT| expects to inspire over 5,000 attendees including buyers, media, industry participants and fashion and art enthusiasts.

|FAT| 2014 HIGHLIGHTS
This year's extraordinary exhibition of fashion and art is anticipating an exciting move to the award-winning, innovative arts and cultural facility in Toronto’s east end, Daniels Spectrum.

Earth/Industry | Grit/Glamour | Masculine/Feminine | Cult/Culture | Minimal/Extreme

Earth/Industry (Earth Day - April 22, 2014) will present eco collections and fashion constructed of re-purposed textiles and recycled embellishments contrasted by industrial designs, fashioned with 3D printing, LED and hybrid elements

Montreal-based fashion designer Brit Wacher will present her anticipated collection that plays with perspective and integrates art, live music and fashion choreography
