Seventh PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week begins today

The seventh edition of Pakistan’s four-day-long fashion filled extravaganza PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week will feature collections from the country’s eminent designers and textile makers.
 
Staring from today and will run till April 13, 2014, the event will be divided into three separate catwalk and exhibition sections featuring luxury prêt-a-porter lines, high-street creations and textile designs.
 
Designers Akif Mahmood, Ali Xeeshan Theater Studio, Deepak Perwani, Élan, Fahad Hussayn, House of Arsalan Iqbal, HSY, Karma - Pink, Khaadi Khaas, Maria B, Mohsin Ali by Libas, Muse, Nickie Nina, Nida Azwer and Rizwan Beyg are gearing up to showcase their latest luxury ready-to-wear ranges at the soiree.
 
High-street names like Arooj Ahmed, Bareeze Man, BeachTree, Chenone’s Pareesa by Sahar Atif, Generation, Gul Ahmed, Ittehad, Kayseria Pret, MK Nation and Roodaba Omar will display their modern affordable creations at the fashion do.
 
Leading Pakistani textile giants, such as Five Star Textile Limited, Lakhany Silk Mills, Nimsay Redefining Style by Nimra Textile and Warda Prints, will present their interpretations for the season under the Textile Mill Voile show platform.
 
Fashion house Shehla’s designer Shehla Chatoor will showcase her spring/summer 2014 line Samsara at the event. Replete with metal accents and embroidery, the quintessential eastern designs with innovative silhouettes, such as pre-draped sarees and blouses, are decorated with motifs inspired from Buddhist mandalas, Chinese calligraphy, Kashmiri paisleys, Mogul tomb engraved florals and Lahore gardens. 
 
Faryal Aftab and Moeed Yousaf, the designer duo behind clothing brand Muse, will feature a range of classic eveningwear crafted from luxe fabrics sourced from Italian and French manufacturers at the event.
 
Other than featuring collections from young and seasoned talents, the prestigious soiree will also conduct a design project in collaboration with the United Nations. Aimed at empowering women, the project will see designers from all over the country creating T-shirts peppered with regional colours, embellishments and embroideries.
