A strong trend of the spring / summer 2015 season, jeans gain new interpretations and finishes, composing outfits ranging from casual to chic.

Contemporary and urban, classic and timeless
For decades jeans are a constant in the season to season productions. An item essential for those looking for style and comfort, denim returned to the spotlights in recent weeks’ national fashion shows.

For the spring / summer 2015 season, the item appears in different looks, ranging from those sporty and casual to the more elegant and with a touch of tailoring. This season, the jeans resurfaces reinvented, and gains new interpretations with a mix of different textures and fabrics, bleach and stone washed, with lashings, cut-offs and patches.

Jeans gathered so much highlight this season that labels such as tng, Espaço Fashion, Herchcovitch, Amapô and Uma bet on the item as the main element of their runway shows. The label tng took the trend so seriously, that it ended its show at Fashion Rio with the most commented trio of artists from the soap opera “Em Família” Reinaldo Gianecchini, Giovanna Antonelli and Taina Muller wearing full denim outfits. The actors wore VICUNHA articles, among them, Collin, with a soft touch and perfect fit; Jéssica, from the product line Latitude Zero, of electric and intense blue; and the striped denim Volpi.

With several washes and fits, the jeanswear was one of the key pieces of tng, which also opted for indigos such as Jump, from the Athletic Denim line, unique for its structure of high elasticity (SUPER POWER STRETCH), which appeared in garments with tailored cut of various shapes such as blazers, pants in pantalona modelling, overcoats, skinny jeans, vests and shorts, and tops and shorts with destroyed and faded look.

With silhouettes that range from oversized to more structured elements, the indigos with innovative appeal from the product line Athletic Denim from VICUNHA - with jeans look outside and a soft sweatshirt feeling on the inside also were a highlight in the collections of other brands. Combined with garments of silky, satin finish fabrics and tailored silhouettes, Uma Raquel Davidowicz, who incorporated denim looks for the first time in her fashion show, focused on the jeans trend by giving her pieces a manually finished torn effect in the best casual chic style.

The brand Amapô, of the fashion designers Carolina Gold and Pitty Taliani, valued the effects of different washings and finishing on the indigos Gym and Jump – different versions of the Athletic Denim – such as tie dye washes and side cuts edged with lashings, in reference to the nautical streetwear universe. The label Espaço Fashion, from Rio de Janeiro, in its turn, used Jump as basis for all denim looks presented at Fashion Rio, with highlight on account of its wide modelling and embroidered pants, jackets and overalls which became the must-have item of this season.

Stronger than ever, the “blue gold” has also drawn attention at the fashion shows of collec-tions such as Ellus, Oh Boy!, Cavalera, Colcci and the debutant designer Lilly Sarti.
