Barrie Knitwear, a Scottish cashmere specialist owned by the internationally-renowned French fashion house Chanel, has signed on the famous English-American actress and model Lily Collins to star in its first-ever fashion campaign.

Shot by the Parisian label’s current creative director Karl Lagerfeld, the advertorial images showcase the young 25-year-old star in some of the knitwear brand’s new 20-piece collection.

Designed by Chanel’s knitwear designer Odile Massuger, the line features an array of brightly patterned cashmere separates, including a camouflage cardigan.

The collection will be entirely produced at Barrie label’s Hawick factory, which also manufactures garments for high-end designer brands like Chanel and Hermes.

The line will be first previewed at the Colette concept store in Paris from June 9 to 14, 2014, and later will be available at the knitwear label’s maiden Parisian outlet, which is set to be unveiled on June 15, 2014.

Before its 2012’s acquisition by luxury goods house Chanel, the Hawick-based Barrie Knitwear used to operate as a trading division of luxury textiles firm Dawson International Trading Ltd, which went into administration on August 15, 2012.

Founded in 1909, Chanel specializes in both haute couture and ready-to-wear pieces. The brand releases about six clothing and two accessory collections, created under the guidance of the label’s 80-year-old creative director of German origin Karl Lagerfeld and his assistant and Chanel studio director Virginie Viard, every year.
