Mod' Art International hosts Fashion Show 'A La Mode 2014'

Leading French fashion school Mod’ Art International held its annual fashion show ‘A La Mode, 2014’ at the plush Elysee hall, The Suryaa, New Friends Colony, evening. The glittering showcase witnessed some of the industry’s top models donning creations by the graduating batch of 2014. Choreographed by Ketan Bhatia, the show comprised of 48 individual pieces. 
 
The collection was judged by a jury of industry stalwarts such as renowned stylist Rishi Raj and designer Shivali Misra of Purple Paper Bag fame. Fashion Management Guru Mr. Patrice De Place, President, Mod’ Art International Paris, and former director Christian Dior and Celine (LVMH Group) was also seen cheering the students and sharing important tips.  City’s elite including designers, corporate, diplomats, exporters came together to show their support for the budding designers.
 
Commenting on the gala event, Himanshu Singhal, Director, Mod’ Art International, Delhi said, “A La Mode has always successfully acted as an ideal platform for the discovery of fresh designing talent. We take extreme pride in the caliber and competency of our students and through them we hope to give to the industry just the kind of talents they require.” 
 
The high powered night was graced by prominent faces including Designers Raakesh Agarvwal, Sonia Jetleey, Josh Goraya, Shaine Soni, Amit Talwar, Industrialist Vikrum Baidyanath, Ex Big Boss Contestant and Yoga Guru Vivek Mishra, Socialites Poonam Sharma, Sona Goyal, Sunaina Chibba, Tanya Kapoor, Arpita Bansal, Shruti Sharma, Twinkle Vinayak, Vedika Sharma, Entrepreneurs Nikhil Kumar, Julie Deb, Harsheen Arora, Artist Vipul Amar, Beauty Expert Dr. Varun Katyal, Hair & Make up Expert Sylvie, Kaajee, Choreographer Ketan Bhatia, Celebrity Stylist Rishi Raj, Models Andrea, Reka, Ritu amongst others.
 
The collections this year include exotic themes such as-
-Parable O Castle - Stimulated by the architectural beauty of the palaces and forts around the world, the collection is based on laser cut fabrics inspired by their grandeur
-Archaic Au Courant - The idea behind the concept is to represent two entirely contrary worlds – the Modern Times versus the Medieval Vintage 
-Spring Umbrella- Inspired by the early monsoons at the time of spring, this collection features sheer fabrics and nets and flowery designs 
-Resurrection of the medieval - The collection depicts the dramatic look of the medieval. -The rich garments are brought back to life by the earthy colors to infuse the understated and dramatic at the same time 
-Flurry Gust - The theme Flurry Gust, is a mix of flamboyance, amorphous, quirky and billowy elements
 
Previous renditions of ‘A La Mode’ have seen ready to wear collections being presented by students. Operating on the philosophy of bringing the best of European fashion aesthetics to India, Mod’ Art equips its students with the best of theoretical training and industry exposure. The collection for 2014 was therefore highly appreciated.
