The Spanish division of the European supermarket chain Lidl has roped in local fashion designer Custo Dalmau to create an affordable clothing range for women.

Available for sale in around 530 stores in Spain, the 22-piece limited-edition capsule collection is titled as Custo Growing.

The line, which has been initially released with some 300,000 units, includes four different styles each in jeans, leggings and knitted dresses as well as ten shirts.

Lidl, which currently marks its 20th anniversary in Spain, has plans to open around 20 new supermarkets in the country by the end of 2014.

The firm is owned by the German global discount supermarket chain giant Lidl Stiftung & Co. KG, which was originally founded in 1930. It operates through a network of over 10,000 stores across Europe.

The Barcelona-raised designer Custo Dalmau has showcased collections from his high-end fashion brand Custo Barcelona at international events like Miami Fashion Week, Puerto Rico High Fashion Week and Columbia’s fashion fair Ixel Moda.
