Desigual to debut at Madrid Fashion Week

Desigual, the casual fashion brand from Spain’s autonomous province of Catalonia, is prepping up to debut at the forthcoming September 2014 calendar of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Madrid.

The Barcelonan label, which is a regular participant in the New York fashion weeks, would showcase for the first time at the Spanish capital runway event, slated to take place from September 11 to 16, 2014.

The brand, which would mark its 30th anniversary through the catwalk parade, will show its latest Spring/Summer 2015 women’s fashion line at the Madrid event.

The label has recently launched its S/S 15 collection for men at the ongoing Catalan fashion fair 080 Barcelona Fashion.

Infused with a cool laidback spirit of a typical beachside holiday, the collection was decorated with bright floral and tropical prints and vibrant African tribal patterns.

The range included male sarongs, matching blazer and shorts combos, dual-toned rolled up drawstring pajamas, shirts with elastic bands on hems and sleeves, Hawaiian print button downs and colorful beach shorts.

Founded in 1984, Desigual owns some 405 retail stores around the globe and maintains presence in over 11,000 multi-brand stores and about 2,500 department stores in nearly 109 countries. The company operates with a workforce of around 4,200 people from about 90 different nationalities.

Last year, the clothier sold more than 28 million garments through its various sales channels worldwide.
