LFW Winter/Festive to open with designers Masaba & Amit

At Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2014, DHL brings double the excitement with star designers Masaba Gupta and Amit Aggarwal as show starters at India’s most premium fashion extravaganza. The show will mark, both Masaba and Amit’s debuts as opening designers and also the first time that the two will show together.

This opening show marries Masaba’s distinctive and bold style with Amit’s unique and futuristic sensibilities. This study in contrast promises to be a treat for the senses. The collections will play on the use of DHL’s distinctive yellow accent that will bring vigour to the first show of the season.

A young fashion director at a leading fashion house and an entrepreneur, Masaba Gupta has many facets. She will showcase ‘Wanderess’ an exquisite collection under her own label inspired by renowned author Roman Payne, at her sensational opening show.

On the other hand, the darling of India’s fashion editors and Hollywood hotties, also once rightfully labelled as a future fashion icon, Amit Aggarwal promises to showcase a power packed inaugural collection. His modern ensemble with strong tribal influences will see couture dresses with menswear details to blend androgyny with the feminine.

Masaba said, “I am very excited to be opening Lakmé Fashion Week this season. I will be showcasing after one year and look forward to showing with DHL. LFW was the platform where my journey in fashion started and it’s good to be back.”

This princess of prints and the man synonymous with edgy and futuristic fashion will display their collections at LFW WF 2014 on evening of 19th August 2014 at Palladium Hotel, a day prior to the fashion week scheduled from 20th – 24th August 2014.
