English fashion consultant Gok Wan has created a Spanish-inspired collection of statement separates for the UK-based supermarket chain Sainsbury’s label TU.
Infused with the 39-year-old’s signature figure-enhancing styles along with a masculine twist, the collection is replete with clean lines and structure, luxurious fabrics, fringes, flamenco style frills and romantic baroque prints.
Based on a summer friendly palette of black, white and blue, the waistline accentuating 34-piece capsule Gok for Tu Collection 14 includes an array of elegant eveningwear, beautiful basics and chic workwear ensembles.
Some of the standout pieces from the line include an androgynous crisp-cut tailored tuxedo, a fitted bolero jacket, a jacquard circle skirt, a lace colour block shell top and a pair of cropped printed trousers.
“This collection is inspired by the strength and versatility of the contemporary woman, reflecting the many different roles that they fulfill in their everyday lives. Clean lines and structure, coupled with romantic baroque prints and soft, luxurious fabrics take this collection to a whole new level of sophistication,” the designer said in a statement.
The range will be available for sale in some 200 stores across the UK from August 26, 2014 onwards.
Launched in 2004, TU is a contemporary clothing brand meant for both children and adults. The label is owned by the London-based chain Sainsbury, which was founded in 1869.
Born in Leicester, United Kingdom, Wan is a well-known author and television presenter in the country.
