Online retailer Piperlime to debut clothing collection

The Californian online fashion retailer Piperlime is all set to launch its first-ever clothing line replete with the company’s signature streetwear styles.

Dubbed as Piperlime Collection, the range, which will be updated every season, will be created by the firm’s Director of Design and Trend, Jamie Lewin, along with the in-house design team.

Slated to be available online and at the Piperlime SoHo store from September 2014 onwards, the trend-driven collection will feature an elevated assortment of 68 pieces that can be mixed and matched with the other brand-owned apparels offered on the site.

In addition to the upcoming collection, the web destination has also added a new social media feature that showcases streams of filtered Instagram images to its website.

The new social feed feature would enable shoppers to click on the images and directly shop the displayed items to get the overall look.

The Vice President and General Manager of Piperlime, Lexi Tawes, said in a statement, “We're excited to integrate social media into our customers’ shopping experiences.”

“Interweaving technology into our incredible mix of product and fashion expertise is making Piperlime more than a shopping destination; we've become a style resource,” he adds.

Other than the website update, the e-commerce site will also offer styling tips from fashion bloggers and style influencers.

Launched in 2006, the Los Angele-based Piperlime specializes in an array of women’s apparels and accessories. The website also offers fashion inspiration, curated picks and exclusive tips on how to wear the seasonal trends.

The company is part of the Growth, Innovation and Digital division of the international retailer Gap Inc., which makes men’s, women’s, and children’s clothing under the Gap, Banana Republic, Old Navy, Piperlime, Athleta and Intermix brands..
