The forthcoming 16th instalment of the Australian fashion frenzy Telstra Perth Fashion Festival (TPFF) will see a host of new collections not only from home-grown talents but also Asian names, thanks to the newly formed partnership between Asia’s FIDé Fashion Weeks and the organizers of the annual Aussie event.

Slated to take place from September 17, 2014, the event will open with a series of eclectic catwalk showcases from the Filipino couturier Michael Cinco and Indonesian designer Sebastian Gunawan alongside the local designer Alvin Fernandez owned label ae’lkemi, which is known for its classic shaped and contemporary form incorporated designs.

Also, national designer Rebecca Paterson behind the 33 Poets label will showcase a capsule collection created in memory of her late friend Ruth Tarvydas, Homage, along with the East Sydney Fashion Design Studio trained luxury fashion creator Alex Perry at the soiree.

The line up also includes the designer-cum-artist whose clothes are being favoured by the likes of Georgia May Jagger, Beyoncé, Kate Hudson, Nicki Minaj and Miranda Kerr, Camilla Franks, NOM*D (the label known for its traditionally tailored utilitarian designs), designer duo Elisabeth and Neville Findlay founded women’s and men’s fashion brand Zambesi, as well as the West Australian-based Zhivago (operated by long time friends, Lara Kovacevich and Lydia Tsvetnenko).

The October, 2013’s 10-day-long edition of FIDé Fashion Week in Singapore witnessed couture, womenswear and menswear ensembles from nearly 30 European and Asian designers, including Lie Sang Bong (Korea), Yumi Katsura (Japan) and five design students from the Paris-based fashion institution Atelier Chardon Savard.
