India Runway Week to show lines from 35 designers

More than 35 designers from different Indian cities will showcase their latest creations at the upcoming third season of India Runway Week (IRW), which is slated to take place from September 19 to 21, 2014 in Delhi.
The event will feature nearly 12 Winter/Festive 2014 catwalk shows which will include presentations from a group of 5, 4, 3 and 2 designers as well as parades by lone designers belonging to cities like Mumbai, Calcutta, Jaipur, Ludhiana and Delhi.
Organized by the Indian Federation for Fashion Development (IFFD), the catwalk do’s line up includes over 10 generation next designers as well as 4 budding designers and a packed roster of several emerging labels.
The budding designers’ list features Indulgence by Shirin and Cheena, Invokee by Indrani Chowdhury, Ashfaque Ahmad and the design duo Sandeep Singh and Pummy Bhatia.
The emerging brands’ category includes names like the Jaipur-based Kshitija Rana, Calcutta’s Gopal Roy, AUM (owned by Nishu J), Amrita Sethi, Amit Sachdeva, Aarti Tripathi from Mumbai, Raas (by designers Akanksha and Dhruv Arora) alongside the fashion duos ‘Liz Paul and Satya Mishra’ and ‘Roli and Saurabh Khandelwal’.
The Fashion Director of IRW, Kiran Kheva, says, “We are looking forward to various textile and chic designers this year.”
Avinash Pathania, the Director of IFFD, also reveals in a statement, “This season is sure to witness great minds at work inventing styles and statements.”
The three-day event will also showcase eclectic jewellery collections from rising names like Kavita Gogna and Akassh K Aggarwal.
IFFD provides the opportunity for fashion industry members, both new and old, to create networks that will facilitate action and inspire the overall industry growth. (PB)
