The American fashion designer Betsey Johnson has launched a new activewear range inspired from her fall 2013 runway show titled BJ Kicks A.

Detailed with colourful fun punk patterns and micro fishnet textures, the fall 2014 line is made from high-stretch nylon spandex, heat-retaining fleece and performance enhancing moisture-wicking materials.

Replete with peplum shapes, corset piping and cutesy bows, the collection includes colour block cropped leggings, zip-up hooded jackets, shapewear pants and mesh cut out tanks.

Based on a palette of hot pink, charcoal and black tones, the range is available for purchase at Nordstrom stores, Macy’s site and the 72-year-old designer’s own website.

The Betsey Johnson label specializes in women’s apparels, legwear, swimwear and outerwear. The brand is sold in nearly 2,000 specialty stores as well as leading department stores like Bloomingdales, Nordstrom and Macy’s.

Since 2004, Betsey Johnson LLC has expanded its product offerings through more than a dozen licensing agreements.

The New York Fashion Week designer’s fall 2013 catwalk parade showcased models, clad in about 20 activewear pieces, doing crunches, push-ups and other gym exercises. (PB)
