More than 48 brands will showcase their lines of eclectic Spring/Summer 2015 trends at the forthcoming edition of Japanese fashion revelry Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Tokyo, slated to take place from October 13 to 19, 2014.

The event will be opened with a show by the local womenswear brand Hanae Mori, which will relaunch itself at the prestigious do with a brand new collection designed by its newly appointed New York-bred designer and founder of A Degree Farenheit label, Yu Amatsu.

The designer line up of the week-long soiree also includes men’s and women’s clothier Dresscamp (designer Toshikazu Iwaya), London’s Central Saint Martins’ alumnus Johan Ku (Gold Label), Tokyo-based fashion label Dressedundressed, Koji Udo’s Factotum, Alice Auaa (Yasutaka Funakoshi) and Japan’s Bunka Fashion College grad Hiromichi Ochiai’s brand Facetasm.

In addition to the home-grown names, the event will also showcase creations from foreign names like Fleamadonna (from the South Korean designer Jei Kim) and the internationally acclaimed House of Holland (the English label owned and operated by the Greater Manchester-born talent Henry Holland).

Apart from the style studded runway shows, the Tokyo Fashion Week will also witness exquisite fashion design installations from labels like Somarta, Yasutoshi Ezumi and Motonari Ono. (PB)
