To mark the 20th anniversary of its bi-annual campaign series The Art of Fashion, the American luxury specialty department store Neiman Marcus has roped in the Tel Aviv–born London-based photographer Nadav Kander to shot the fall-2014 advertisement honouring some of the greatest legends of style and design industry.

According to a blog on the department store’s website, the portraiture and landscape photo specialist has envisioned a “visually uncomfortable” false-perspective set and “a gentle idea that nobody’s feet ever touch the floor” for the new advertorial.

The exquisite advertisement images showcase around 15 models clad in some 31 exquisitely crafted looks by names like Gucci, Givenchy, Etro, Suno, Derek Lam, Brunello Cucinelli, Donna Karan, Akris and Saint Laurent.

Some of the pieces from the collection include an Alexander McQueen mink pom pom velvet jacquard cape paired with a puffed sleeve blouse with ribbon cuffs and an ivy-print jacquard velvet cropped pants, an emerald hued Stella McCartney long-sleeve zip-appliqué shirtdress and a Bottega Veneta zigzag colour block dress.

The line also includes a Carolina Herrera fur-trim swing coat and cropped stretch wool straight-leg pants combo, an Emilio Pucci beaded south-western print dress, a Dolce and Gabbana flora and fauna jacquard gown and a Jenny Peckham sheer sleeved beaded fanned gown.

The range will be showcased at the forthcoming edition of HONOLULU Fashion Week, which is slated to take place from November 6 to 9, 2014.

Started in 1994, The Art of Fashion campaign highlights the department store’s fall and spring season’s most extraordinary designer offerings twice a year.

Founded in 1907, Nieman Marcus is owned by the Dallas-based Nieman Marcus Group which operates catalogue and online operations under the Horchow, Neiman Marcus and Bergdorf Goodman names.

Nadav Kander has taken the photos of Prince Charles for the cover of Time, Radiohead and Paul McCartney for Rolling Stone, and Obama and his inaugural cabinet for The New York Times Magazine. (PB)
