Nike unveils S/S15 performance & athletic wears for women

The American sportswear giant Nike has recently unveiled the latest Spring/Summer 2015 collections for its athletic and digital media savvy female consumers.

Created in collaboration with several leading international designers like the Brazilian talent Pedro Lourenço, the comprehensive range is comprised of both performance and athletic wear items like tights, innovative sports bras and other fitness accessories.

While explaining the gradual shift towards fitness activities among women and the brand’s role behind it, Mark Parker, the President and CEO of NIKE, Inc., says, “Sport and fitness are powering a new lifestyle shift for women around the world. Women all over the world are choosing to work out and run with Nike. By offering athletes at every level a better understanding of themselves, Nike serves as the direct link between the female consumer and her goals.”

He further explains the popularity of the brand’s digital apps among the modern consumers, “The Nike+ digital community is a global ecosystem of inspiration and optimism, using knowledge and community to motivate. The Nike+ Training Club App for women has been downloaded 16 million times and 9 million women have downloaded the Nike+ Running App.”

“Our relationship with our digital community of 65 million women, coupled with great product innovation, is driving our momentum and we expect to add another $2 billion in revenue to reach $7 billion by FY17,” he reveals how the new product innovations will help accelerate Nike’s women’s business growth.

The range was modelled by some 27 of the world’s top athletes, including Angelica Bengtsson, Sofia Boutella, Leticia Bufoni, Xue Chen, Skylar Diggins, , Marlen Esparza, Allyson Felix, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, Katarina Johnson-Thompson, Joanna Józwik, Sally Kipyego, Daria Klishina, Carissa Moore, Li Na, Alana Nichols, Paula Radcliffe, Sarah Reinertsen, Sanya Richards Ross, Laura Robson, Brianna Rollins, Carolina Salgado, Maria Clara Salgado, Joan Benoit Samuelson, Dafne Schippers, Zhang Shuai and Adelina Sotnikova, in New York City.

Founded in 1964, based near Beaverton, Oregon, Nike specializes in the designing, marketing and distributing of a wide variety of athletic footwear, apparels, equipment and accessories meant for an expansive range of sports and fitness activities. (PB)
