More than 70 young and established designers from Russia and across the globe showcased their latest Spring/Summer 2015 collections at the just held 29th season of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia.

The fashion brand Laroom presented a graceful, sophisticated feminine range for the modern cosmopolitan women at the five-day-long Moscow event. Created in clean line silhouettes, the bold flower motif and check adorned dresses and skirts were accentuated with deaf-collars and cuffed sleeves.

Russian talent Alena Akhmadullina drew inspiration from fairy tales for her conceptual line comprised of vibrantly printed semi-transparent gowns, fringed skirts and perky short dresses while the Georgian-born and Paris-based designer Ria Keburia highlighted pyjama-like dresses replete with Japanese tailoring and loose silhouettes.

Yasya Minochkina, the London’s Central Saint Martin’s grad of Ukrainian origin, created cute and girly pieces in laconic and pure cuts. Made using wet silk, wool and polyamide, the line included a range of mini, midi and maxi dresses in a palette of black and grey along with pastel shades of mint and pale blue.

Designer Svetlana Tegin opted to display a very sleek minimalistic collection made using high-end fabrics while the JOVANI Fashion House’ new line Modern dresses by MASLAVI showcased some 60 outfits made of eco-leather, jacquard and geometric printed fabrics in dark and metallic tones.

In addition to the style studded S/S runway shows by the aforementioned designers, the event also witnessed a prêt-a-porter collection from the Lebanese-Italian couturier who has worked for eminent international fashion houses like Lanvin, Dior and Chloe, Tony Ward.

Also a collective kids’ fashion show featuring designs from childrenswear specialists like Polina Golub, Lena Karnauhova, Anna Chakvetadze (Ach Factory), Eugenia Lazareva (MAMANONSTOP), Yulia Karchenkova, Margarita Bykovskaya and BORODULIN’S was hosted on the sidelines of the event. The catwalk parade was supported by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation. (PB)
