Frank Lloyd Wright inspires São Paulo FW designer

The Brazilian fashion designer Patricia Viera opened the penultimate day of ongoing Latin American bi-annual fest São Paulo Fashion Week with her leather heavy range.
Inspired from Scandinavian landscapes and the works of American architect Frank Lloyd Wright, the smooth, soft to touch, ultra feminine red, yellow, pink, blue, purple, beige, black and off white coloured garments were enhanced with crystals and cross stitch patterns.
Designer Gloria Coelho drew inspiration from the metamorphosis of structures for her latest range. Made using acetate crepe, embroidered tulle, guipure lace, vinyl, leather and double satin, the pieces were replete with horizontal bases and detachable sleeves and collars. Accentuated with patchwork, the line included Swarovski crystals adorned eveningwear, dotted white gowns, knitted skirts, tights, and high waist tops worn with shorts.
Designer Fernanda Yamamoto took inspiration from the concept of self discovery and renewal for her new Winter-2015 ready-to-wear collection. Crafted mainly with wool and cotton jacquard materials, the black, gray, wine and dark green toned clothes were created in straight shapes. Decorated with seamless detailing, Brazilian lace embroidery, sequins, ruffles and flower motifs, the standouts were a red suit and a knitted coat.
Inspired from the mosques, ceramics, tapestries and nomads of Uzbekistan, fashion label GIG Couture’s designer Gina Guerra created her knit heavy line. Based in a palette of camel, navy, brick, orange, blue and rosé hues, the graphic accented range showed tapestry textured maxi coats and long loose fit tunics.
Medieval forests played as muse for fashion brand Têca por Helô Rocha’s partywear catwalk collection. Made using luxe devore silk, velvet, jacquard, georgette, crepe de chine, silk twill and denim fabrics, the vividly embroidered ensembles were gowns, midi skirts, shirts and short dresses. (PB)
