Slated to be available for purchase sometime in December, 2014, the light, comfortable shirt is created from fabric installed sensors that are connected with a small Bluetooth device placed in the shirt’s built-in side pocket that provides users with measurements such as heart rate, step count, sleep duration and calories burned, during activity as well as sleep.
Apart from allowing the users to review the data before, during and after workout sessions, the sensor device also enables them to measure heart rate recovery and variability, breathing rate and volume, activity level, acceleration and cadence.
The Hexoskin’s warm base layer provides exceptional heat insulation, optimum breathability and high resistance to pilling and abrasion. It can be used over long periods without causing irritation. The fabric's bacteriostatic treatment prevents the spread of bacteria that cause unpleasant odours. All of this while providing the same high-quality Hexoskin body metrics as the original shirt and a comfort similar to Merino wool.
The Canadian firm Hexoskin specializes in health sensors and smart device installed intelligent sports garment that helps fitness enthusiasts to track and capture their body metrics. (PB)
