At the annual menswear fashion event ‘London Collections: Men’ which runs from 9-12 January, some of Britain’s talented menswear designers will be showcasing their creations made using Hainsworth’s fabrics.

London Collections: Men, organised by the British Fashion Council, is now in its sixth season and will feature more than 70 menswear designers during the four-day period. The event is designed to showcase the breadth of British fashion talent, from innovative young designers to global menswear brands and Savile Row tailors.

On most days, contemporary fabrics made by British textile mill Hainsworth will have a presence in the catwalk shows. On January 9, designer Alex Mullins is scheduled to launch his debut collection as part of the British Fashion Council’s NEWGEN ‘Ones to Watch’ initiative. Inspired by the Wild West Rodeo, Mullins’ has used Hainsworth’s Melton fabric to create panelled Melton wool coats in rust and ochre.

Fashion designer Christopher Ræburn, who is known for his creative reinterpretation of military fabrics and commitment to manufacturing in the UK, will showcase his menswear collection on January 10, wherein he turns Hainsworth fabrics into iconic outerwear.

London-based designer Katie Eary, who has collaborated with Hainsworth, will be showing her creations on January 12. Eary is known for her loud printed menswear collections, and her collection will include parkas and macs designed using Hainsworth’s Black and Maroon Doeskin and Orange and Navy Broadcloth.

Hainsworth fabrics will also be on display on January 12 when The Woolmark Company presents ‘The English Gentlemen’ – a presentation by Savile Row’s famous tailors of the modern face of British elegance and a reminder that London is the world’s capital of masculine style and has been for over two centuries.

Commenting on the use of Hainsworth’s fabrics by some of the country’s designers, MD Tom Hainsworth said, “We’re delighted to be working with some of the country’s most dynamic fashion designers providing them and their collections with our contemporary fabrics.”

Established in 1783, Hainsworth is the oldest vertical mill remaining in the UK. Based in Yorkshire, Hainsworth manufactures a range of prestigious fabrics including Doeskin, Melton, Cavalry Twill, Duffle and Pilot Cloth. (RKS)
