Pure London to host business boosting fashion seminars

An informative line-up of seminars based on topics related to fashion and retail businesses will be hosted at the upcoming instalment of Pure London, a trade event that previews next season’s collections for the visiting buyers.

Due to take place at London Olympia from February 8 to 10, 2015, the event will see over 30 speakers offering timely, relevant and well-researched advices on all aspects of the retail industry to help visitors with their buying decisions for the seasons ahead.

Global fashion trend forecaster WGSN will conduct Buyers’ Briefing sessions sharing perspectives on the key looks, colours, shapes and fabrics that will dominate the Autumn/Winter 2015 styles. The company’s senior editor of retail and buying, Sara Maggioni, will be one of the speakers in the daily morning sessions.

Courtney McNally, from the Global Marketing Solutions at Facebook, will present a seminar on how to achieve success in retail and e-commerce businesses by targeting the right kind of people on Facebook. Deryane Tadd, the owner of the Hertfordshire-based ladies’ fashion boutique The Dressing Room, will offer first-hand advice on her retail experience to the buyers and retailers.

Personal stylist Nicky Hambleton Jones will hold a seminar titled ‘Styling the Sale: Using styling to increase spend’. The session will advise retailers, boutique owners and store managers on ways to use styling skills to improve customer service and create a fantastic shopping experience, which ultimately leads to increasing sales and turnover.

Established bloggers and social media experts Alex Ikonn, Mimi Ikonn, Navaz Batiwalla of Disney Roller Girl, Atosa Nikkhah of My Bubba and Me, and Megan Hart of Front Row Society and Propellernet will share their experience on what content works well for different audiences and the effective use of video blogging.

In addition to the seminars, the London event will also include a lifetime retrospective dedicated to the works of veteran British fashion designer Dame Zandra Rhodes. In an interview with Eric Musgrave, editor of Drapers, the fashion creator will share her esteemed career highlights including a look back through her design archives and a preview of her new AW15collection on stage. Additionally, she will share her views on today’s fashion environment, offering visitors a valuable reflection on the evolving industry and its trends. (PB)
