More than 18 young designers will showcase their creativity at the upcoming third edition of European Young Designers Contest, a new designer-centric promotional platform held as part of Portuguese style showcase Porto Fashion Show.

The competition will feature creations from budding talents belonging to some of the leading design schools across Europe including Spain (IED Madrid), France (Atelier Chardon Savard), Germany (Esmod Berlin), Italy (Accademia Koefia), United Kingdom (Falmouth University) and Portugal (Modatex).

The final show of the contest, which is due to take place on February 25, 2015 at textile-focused trade event Modtissimo, will be attended by Portugal-based labels like A2 Asdrubal J.A, Crispim Abreu and Polopique.

In addition to promoting new European fashion talents, the competition also aims to highlight the design, textile and apparel industries in Portugal, particularly the event’s host city Oporto.

The contest is organised by the Textile Intelligence Centre.

Scheduled to be held from February 25 to 26, 2015, the textile and clothing trade fair Porto Fashion Show will display both adults’ and children’s fashion clothing as well as accessories. Apart from the apparel exhibits, the event will also host technical textiles seminar titled ‘iTechStyle Innovation Business Forum’, conducted by the Technological Centre of Portuguese Textile and Clothing Industries (CITEVE), and various industry-related workshops.
