Fruit of the Loom to show updated Fit for Me at FFFW15, NY

American innerwear company Fruit of the Loom has created a new updated version of Fit for Me, a special lingerie line meant specifically for curvy women with dress sizes between 16 and 32.

Replete with improved fit, plush waistbands and soft cotton fabrics, the collection features a variety of silhouettes enhanced with vivid prints and colours.

Speaking to the media, Melissa Burgess-Taylor, senior vice president of Brand Management at the Kentucky-based firm, stated, “At Fruit of the Loom, we’ve learned that finding the right basics for a curvy consumer can be a difficult, often emotional, experience. We’ve worked hard to create beautiful products that are made for curves, and will make every woman feel special.”

The label will showcase the new collection at New York’s Full Figured Fashion Week (FFFW) in June 2015 as the fashion do sponsor. In conjunction with style expert Denise Caldwell, the brand will host media and consumer events, and fashion shows.

Gwen DeVoe, founder of the curvy women’s fashion extravaganza, commented on the partnership in a statement, “Full Figured Fashion Week has become a movement for the full-figured community to rally around, and we're excited to be partnering with Fit for Me to bring it back for 2015. Fruit of the Loom and Denise Caldwell both have such a great understanding of women of all shapes and sizes – we can't wait to see how they help us take the event to the next level!”

Now in its seventh year, the week-long international plus-size soiree FFFW will host catwalk shows, networking events and business development workshops. (PB)
