Debenhams launches casualwear line Ben de Lisi Weekend

British multinational retailer Debenhams has released a casualwear assortment of the highly popular Principles by Ben de Lisi brand in some 60 stores nationwide and online.

Titled Ben de Lisi Weekend, the 60-piece contemporary yet sophisticated style range has been designed under the guidance of the label’s eponymous American design talent and creative head, Ben de Lisi.

While speaking to media about the line, the 59-year-old namesake designer revealed, “I’m thrilled to be further building on the Principles by Ben de Lisi brand with a fresh and exciting casual collection. The range is for a modern, stylish woman who has an eye for quality, cut and detail.”

Commenting on the face of the label, Sophie Dahl, the New York-based designer adds, “Sophie Dahl embodies everything that the collection represents – a beautiful, modern, sophisticated working Mum who always looks fantastic.”

“The collection is all about ease - for the shoot we really mixed and matched it, in a way that felt true to the way I dress. Within this collection there are some gorgeous muted pastels, soft slouchy trousers and grown-up ‘meet the parents’ dresses. A weekend bag packed for many an eventuality,” said the 37-year-old English author and supermodel Dahl in a statement.

The collection is replete with on-trend khaki shades, colourful printed day dresses, beautifully cut blazers and chic cropped trousers.

After its parent company Mosaic Fashions went into administration in 2009, Debenhams bought the Principles brand in February 2010. (PB)
