Indian designer Monisha Jaising has shared her views on the upcoming trends that are likely to dominate the Spring/Summer 2015 season.

According to a press release, the designer predicted that sports luxe and sports casual, which by default have attained the status of daywear globally, will be big next season along with the addition of new shapes, prints and stripes.

Floral with bold yet dainty new bloom motifs and a classic nautical palette comprising navies, red, white and cream as well as a dash of metallic embellishment will rule the fashion scene in the coming months.

As far as the detailing is concerned, the designer said, “Whether it is the colour blocking, slashed shoulders, high cut collars, epaulettes, metalwork, functional pockets or the classic form of it – shirt-dresses are going to be the summer essential!”

“Grecian royalty inspired floor-length maxi dresses/gowns in sheer, breezy, luxe fabrics are going to be reigning this Spring/Summer” she adds in the media statement.

Known for her eastern-meets-western design sensibilities, the London’s Royal College of Arts grad is described as the princess of bohemian luxe and re-inventor of the versatile Indian outfit Kurti. (PB)
