Eight young fashion creators, shortlisted from a list of 26 aspiring international names, will compete for this year’s LVMH Young Fashion Designer Prize, a contest that aims to encourage the creativity of emerging design talents under the age of 40.
Selected by an esteemed jury comprising fashion blogger Chiara Ferragni, Milanese shopping destination 10 Corso Como’s founder Carla Sozzani and photographer Juergen Teller, the finalists are Arthur Arbesser, Craig Green and Faustine Steinmetz.Eight young fashion creators, shortlisted from a list of 26 aspiring international names, will compete for this year's LVMH Young Fashion Designer#
The list also consists Simon Porte (designer behind Jacquemus), Virgil Abloh (Off-White), Demna Gvasalia (Vetements), Sébastien Meyer and Arnaud Vaillant (founders of Coperni label), and brand Marques’Almeida’s designer duo Marta Marques and Paulo Almeida.
Selected contestants will showcase their final creations at the second edition of the LVMH award ceremony, scheduled to take place sometime in May, 2015 in Paris.
The final competition’s panel of jury will include globally-renowned fashion names including Phoebe Philo (Céline), Carol Lim and Humberto Leon (Kenzo), Raf Simons (Dior), Karl Lagerfeld (Fendi), Riccardo Tisci (Givenchy), Jonathan Anderson (Loewe), Nicolas Ghesquière (Louis Vuitton) and Marc Jacobs (Marc Jacobs).
Also Delphine Arnault (member of the LVMH Board of Directors), Jean-Paul Claverie (Advisor to Bernard Arnault) and Pierre-Yves Roussel (chairman and chief executive officer of the LVMH Fashion Division) will be a part of the judging team. (PB)
