Thakoon Panichgul to create line under Kohl's DesigNation

Thai-American fashion designer Thakoon Panichgul has been roped in by US-based department store chain Kohl’s to create a limited-edition fall collection under its collaborative design venture DesigNation, a concept which features premier designer fashion based on international inspiration.
Inspired by the designer’s favourite holiday destination London, the pieces from the range, such as shirts, sweaters, knit tops, dresses and bottoms, have been enhanced with unique prints and patterns celebrating the character, culture and history of the British capital.
Commenting on the design collaboration, Kohl’s executive vice president of women’s apparel, Nancy Feldman, said in a media release, “We are excited to bring Thakoon to our customers this fall to enhance our women’s apparel offerings with innovative designs, great quality and great value."
“DesigNation is built to inspire our customers with designs shaped by some of the world’s most popular destinations, and Thakoon Panichgul is the perfect person to bring London to life as he is known for showcasing distinct, global influences through his collections,” she elaborates on the role played by London in shaping the line.
Thakoon said, “I am excited to partner with Kohl’s to share my process of inspiration. The DesigNation collection allows me to explore London, a city I have always loved, and to showcase its style culture through our lens.”
The capsule womenswear assortment will be available exclusively at Kohl’s stores and Kohls.com beginning fall 2015.
Thakoon is the seventh designer for DesigNation project, which was launched in fall 2012 with Narciso Rodriguez, followed by Derek Lam, Catherine Malandrino, Peter Som, Elie Tahari and Michelle Smith. (PB)
