At the Denim Première Vision in Barcelona, Martelli Lavorazioni Tessili, a developer of finishes and techniques that have marked the progress of jeans, celebrated its 50th anniversary.

Through a collection of iconic pieces, the Martelli booth highlighted the most significant landmarks of its history and the evolution of style, showcasing denim from yesterday, today and tomorrow.

It showcased milestones in laundering and finishing; from tie & dye, stone wash, sandblasting, marbled effects/acid wash, brush robots, manual scraping, dirty effects to modern technology like laser and 3D.

A Martelli press release informed that the booth also gave a sneak peek into the future with 5 panels dedicated to cutting edge solutions, a mix of craftsmanship, technology and eco-sustainable alternatives.

It added that the innovation and research that has characterised Martelli from its beginning, continues on today, encouraging choices that promote environmental awareness and sustainability like ozone, ice finishing and laser.

“This awareness has contributed to the ongoing success of D.ECO.R, Martelli’s techno-creative platform that incites the search for solutions that respect both the environment and the population,” Martelli said.

“It is an improved way of treating denim as well as our planet and additionally it is thinking green today for a bluer tomorrow,” it observed.

Beginning as a tint-house and artisan laundry, from the mid seventies, Martelli has partnered global players within the fashion industry, developing innovative and creative finishes and treatments.

Martelli has seven facilities in Europe and the Mediterranean basin with a total production space of 120,000 sq metres and a workforce of approximately 3,000 people. (AR)
