NID to come out with country's first ever craft training centre

Leading fashion designing institute based at Ahmedabad, National Institute of Design (NID), announced that it will set up country's first ever national craft training, research and development centre with an investment of Rs one crore.
Executive Director of NID Darlie O Koshy information the construction of the proposed craft training, research and development centre has already begun two months back.
Pointing towards the necessity of the centr, she explained that crafts design is becoming popular now a days and our purpose is to widen contemporary courseware for need-based skill upgradation, design development and merchandising-led training programmes.
NID is focusing more on animation, computer game designs, automobiles and jewellery as these segments requires more experiments on designs," she added.
