Mehera Shaw Designs introduces True Femininity Collection

The biggest, most important market in women's clothing today is the baby boomer generation. Women 35 years and older want and need clothes that are vibrant and fun while doing justice to their more experienced sensibilities and tastes as well as flattering real figures. At Mehera Shaw, style has always focused on the woman who knows herself, and is confident in her personal style.
Mehera Shaw, located in the Chapel Hill area of North Carolina, is a small design house owned and run by entrepreneurs and designers, Mark and Shari Keller. They create upscale, original designs in natural fibers such as cotton voile, and use artisan hand block prints to embellish their collections. They aim toward a sophisticated casual look that transition across work, social and family life.
Shari Keller, designer for Mehera Shaw comments: “Our clothes are very much for real women who lead real lives, and in that sense the expression, True Femininity sums up what we believe women's clothes should be about.”
Shari continues: “Our look has always been about True Femininity because I think women really want exactly that—to be truly feminine but on their own terms, in a way they are comfortable with. Style is very individual and it should be something that works for everyday. Our goal is to make beautiful clothes for real women. We use lots of color, different textures, and beautiful floral, hand blocked prints. “
“Our spring collection, in particular, has lots of feminine skirts in cotton voile. Voile has a beautiful drape; the skirts have just enough flair to be soft and romantic while still practical. I like to combine the skirts with lightweight twill jackets and floral print scarves. I also like to mix floral prints with solids for a full range of colors and artistic sensibilities, ” she added.
