Victory Corp registers solid growth of 10.6 from cosmetics & jewellery business

These three important initiatives together have had a very positive impact on our Direct business, with an overall sales increase of 32% in the last quarter of the financial year. The momentum continued in April and May 2005 with an overall increase of 31%. At the end of March 2005, they had 13,167 Consultants, of which 9,905 are active. They have 656 Managers and during the last twelve months they held over 237,000 parties and serviced over 2,332,000 customers.

With over 1,800 personal websites, the Consultant network can communicate with their customer base and thereby increase repeat purchases. This plan, combined with our competitive commission structure and unique incentives, promotions and recognition programmes, provides a Virgin Vie Consultant or Manager with a lucrative, flexible and exciting career. With the introduction of Jewellery, they believe they will be able to significantly expand the Consultant base in the year ahead, and, as a consequence, increase sales proportionately.

Retailing again proved very challenging, and the last six months has seen one of the most difficult retailing environments in twelve years. Christmas came very late, with many retailers discounting their product offers in the run up to the festival. Despite depressed consumer confidence, our store portfolio recorded a 0.5% like-for-like increase in sales over the 52 weeks, and 10.3% overall.
