Titan unveils "Titan-Rotary Centenary Timescapes Clock " in Madikeri

World's sixth largest watch manufacturer Titan Industries Ltd installed the "Titan-Rotary Centenary Timescapes Clock " in Madikeri . This unique initiative is part of the TITAN TIMESCAPES programme aimed at celebrating aesthetics, lauding creativity and sharing the joy of design with society.

Unveiling the first Timescapes in Madikeri, Mr. Bijou Kurien, COO – Watches, Titan Industries Ltd said, “ TIMESCAPES go beyond simple philanthropy or brand building. Drawing upon the natural and manmade features of urban outdoor spaces , this clock is an aesthetic and functional contribution from Titan to the natural terrains of Coorg.”

Through the TIMESCAPES project, Titan aims to bring about human integration of time with space by installing innovative clocks at important public spaces. These clocks seek to affect change in social perspectives by allowing good design to be an experience for the common man and incongruously become a part of public life.

The multi-panel TIMESCAPES clock i nstalled at the viewpoint opposite General Post Office in Madikeri will depict a silhouette of animals and blades of grass to recreate a small jungle blending impeccably with the panoramic countryside setting of Coorg. C omplete with sound and light, the granite panels of this TIMESCAPES clock present a stunning spectacle for the eyes while complementing the beauty of nature.

Speaking on the concept, Mr. Sandeep Menon, the designer behind the 'Titan-Rotary Centenary Timescapes Clock ' expressed, “t he structure a ssumed the form and function of its natural surroundings . The granite panels with animals & grass bl ades inlaid in marble impart magnificence that captures everyone's imagination. The resonating sounds of jungle animals manifest an effect apt to the surroundings of the structure.”
