Tesco Supermarket to sell contact lenses in-Store, by phone & online

“Health is becoming increasingly important to our customers and they look to Tesco to provide a range of convenient and affordable products and services that suit their different lifestyles.
“We are already helping with healthier food ranges, better information and services such as tescodiets on-line and now contact lenses. Our pharmacies are key to meeting our customers healthcare needs and will be at the heart of our drive to offer high quality, low cost and convenient health services in the future.”
Lenses will only be issued where customers provide a current in-date specification from an Optician.
- Tesco currently has 200 in-store pharmacies and 21 opticians (the latter offering sight test examinations and contact lens consultations).
Tesco group operates 12 markets outside the UK, in Europe and Asia. Over 100,000 employees work in our international operations, serving over 15 million customers and generating £7.6 billion sales and £370 million profit. Over half of group space is now outside the UK.
