Grandt Mason to present at Arts & Culture Fashion Seminar

G-MO is going to participate at Arts & Culture Fashion Seminar in South Africa. The fair is organized by SA Fashion Week during 28 to 31 July, 2005.

Great news for the Arts & Culture Fashion Seminar is that Grandt Mason, one of Cape Town's up-and-coming footwear designers will be present at the South African Fashion week from 28 to 31 July.

Grandt, who is behind the animal friendly, high fashion, g-mo footwear label, will be hosting a series of workshops, and amongst other things, will be sharing his knowledge of shoe construction and design.

“Each delegate will be coached through the entire process of footwear design, right through to the manufacturing. They'll leave knowing how to design directly onto a last and how to transfer that design to a pattern and then to their chosen material, as well as learning the necessary folding and stitching techniques,” the 24-year-old designer explains.

All delegates will receive a start-up tool pack, and will leave with their own finished product. The idea is to be able to take the kit home and from then on, be able to design their own footwear.

Grandt's g-mo label has become a sought-after product in the elite fashion market, with his shoes being sold at boutiques in Cape Town and around the country. The woman's range comprises a pump, open-backed and closed-back shoe, a strapped sneaker and a boot. The men's range includes a shoe, boot, open and closed slop, and slip on – most of which are custom made to the clients specifications.
