Profile:
The idea behind g-mo Footwear (Grandt Mason Originals) came about through experimenting with animal friendly products to create a non-leather, high fashion boot. Several years later, the concept, which was the brainchild of up-and-coming Cape Town designer Grandt Mason, has bubbled over and with extensive growth.
Grandt combined his background in industrial design and knowledge of footwear trends, and a year after setting up his g-mo label, presented his first range to the footwear industry public through an extensive label launch and fashion show.
The launch was a huge success and through various niche and alternative marketing campaigns, the g-mo label has become well-known to Cape Town's elite fashion market.
Currently working out of g-mo studios in Cape Town, Grandt's recent focus has been to develop the various styles offered in his range, and continue his work with new fabrics and materials. The men's range includes a shoe, boot, open and closed slop, and a slip on.
Various prototypes have been sold at boutiques in the area, with the client customizing their entire shoe from a fabric, print and stitch selection point of view. The style is unique and aims at the individual.
