SA Fashion Week is going to organize The SAFW Arts and Culture Fashion Seminar during July 28-31, 2005.
Patrick Lee Yow is a product of the renowned MA fashion course at Central Saint Martins In London. He worked freelancing in Textile print and fashion design before producing his own label collections which were bought by the likes of Barneys in New York and Tokyo.
Waking from 'the fantasy and pain' of running a micro company , Patrick now works as a fashion consultant and is an Associate Lecturer at Central Saint Martins. He continues produces limited edition ranges and is represented by South African Laura Kay at her London Showroom.
Workshop: Turning Craft To Business 'There is a market for everything, you just have to find your niche or create one'
What is the point of craft if no one has any use for it? This open discussion will focus on utilising crafting skills to create products with marketable potential. The discussion will include issues such as product desirability, quality, production capacity, quality, pricing and the market place.
This workshop is aimed at the craftsperson and small enterprises who may wish to maximise their potential. Delegates are encouraged to bring along examples of their work.
Patrick will be hosting his craft workshop on Saturday 30 July from 14:00 to 17:00 at the SAFW Arts & Culture Fashion Seminar.
