Norma Kamali stated, "I am very much at home doing this collection since it is where I left off with the sweats in the eighties. This is still one of my favorite collections and it's lots of fun to design."
George Horowitz, chairman and CEO of Everlast Worldwide Inc, said, "Norma Kamali is a true leader in the fashion world. The value and cachet of the Everlast name is reinforced when a designer such as Norma Kamali recognizes the qualities of the brand."
Norma Kamali has always been known as an innovative designer who follows her own path. She invented many designs like the sleeping bag coat, a collection of styles created from actual parachutes, the high heeled sneakers and currently the popular packable, multi-use clothing that can be worn up to thirty variations per design. Norma received numerous awards for fashion design and has a plaque on the Fashion Walk of Fame. This year she received a special tribute award from the Board of Directors of the CFDA.
