Italian Designer, Renato Balestra at preview Fashion Trade Fair

FASHION EXPOSED is Australia's largest all encompassing business event for the Fashion Industry, in Melbourne from 4-6 September 2005 at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre, Southbank.

Visitors to this season's preview Fashion Trade Fair will be given a rare chance to see the latest, exquisite collection works from one of Italy's most celebrated and renowned designers – Renato Balestra.

In Melbourne on behalf of Bella Italia Festival, Renato Balestra will present a highlight of his most recent 'Ready to Wear' collection at the preview Designer Showcase Parade on Monday, September 5th at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre.

Renato Balestra has for over five decades designed collections which have adorned some of the world's most beautiful women. Based in Rome, Renato Balestra reveals some of the greatest fashion icons of our time as his clients, some of whom include Elizabeth Taylor, Lauren Bacall, Lauren Hutton and the Queens of Thailand, Jordan and Sweden.

Once quoted as saying: “The worst form of sadism is to transform women into men and to make them look like insects”, Renato Balestra's designs are a perfect blend of fabric, form and texture; combining his feel for his materials with an economy of expression reflective of his training as an engineer.

Renato Balestra very individualand ever present 'handwriting' is evident throughout each piece of his 42 lines which include Haute Couture, men's and women's Ready to Wear, jewellery, shoes, cosmetics, perfumes, silk scarves and ties, bears the hallmark of his exquisite taste.
